An airstrike hit a Tea Shop in Nangocho, killing 20 civilians

In the northern Shan State, the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike on a Tea Shop in Nangocho, resulting in the deaths of around 20 civilians and numerous injuries, according to local residents.

The bombing occurred around 2:30 p.m. today (November 12) and targeted the location of the tea shop, where customers and passengers in nearby vehicles were hit by the explosion. An officer from the local People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Nangocho city confirmed that approximately 20 civilians lost their lives in the attack.

According to reports, approximately 20 civilians, including long-distance travelers, were killed in the airstrike on the Lansan Tea Shop in Nangocho. A People’s Defense Force (PDF) officer confirmed that the strike directly hit the tea shop, leaving only an empty plot in its place, with many casualties. The exact number of injured is still unknown, as local residents observed significant damage. Due to the high number of fatalities, revolutionary forces are clearing the area, with gunfire heard as they attempt to manage the crowd.

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has been contacted for further information regarding the airstrike on Nangocho city, which is under their control. The Myanmar military council has been conducting regular bombings on Nangocho, a city held by TNLA forces.

The incident follows other recent airstrikes by the military council, which occurred a day after Senior General Min Aung Hlaing returned from a visit to China on November 10. In Mandalay Region’s Mogok city, an airstrike on the night of November 11 killed 20 civilians (16 men and 4 women) and injured 13 others. Additional airstrikes were reported today (November 12) in Pwintbyu (Magway Region), Mindat (Chin State), and Ann Township (Rakhine State). In another incident on October 19, three people, including two children, were killed in an airstrike on Nangocho city, with three others injured.
