The fighting between the military junta and the revolutionary force, Chin Brotherhood has continued to intensify in Falam town, Chin State, from November 8 to the present.

A local source familiar with the military situation said, “The fighting in the town is currently intense. Battalion 268 hasn’t been captured yet, and clashes are ongoing. There’s almost no one left in the town.”

Since October 25, frequent clashes have occurred in Falam. On November 8, the Chin National Organization (CNO/CNDF) and allied forces, Chin Brotherhood operation began an offensive on Battalion 268, a military council unit based in Falam. It’s reported that the military council is putting up strong resistance.

A Falam local, currently taking refuge in a nearby village, reported, “Gunfire can still be heard. There was an airstrike with bombs yesterday afternoon. I’m not sure what will happen today. Almost everyone from town is fleeing, though some might stay in places they believe to be safe. It’s also currently impossible to enter the town, so we don’t know the exact situation.”

In Falam, a town with a population of around 10,000, daily clashes broke out between October 25 and October 28. After casualties occurred among locals due to artillery shelling by the military council, nearly all residents have been displaced, fleeing toward India and the Kalay area.
